If any person says that religions is not the problem in the Middle East, I am sorry then; they need to reevaluate their thinking process. Religion did not states in the book what people are interpreting, correct! but still in the name of the book, we are still suffering because of Heaven followers. They make it hell for others.
One could say economics, religions is part of the oppression.
One could say ignorance, religions is part of the blackness.
One could say civilizations clash, religions is the main reason.
I got the picture…

Hi Jan,
Firstly welcome back, it has been a long time my friend. Also congratulations on the new look, the old site started to hurt the eyes a little bit. I like your post, it is short and to the point. Could you tell us why you’ve come to think religion is the root cause to the problems in the Middle East? The last time I checked, secular ideologies have been behind the most horrendous crimes against humanity, think Hiroshima, Stalin’s purges, Mao’s purges, the Khmer Rouge, the Holocaust, the invasion of Iraq and the occupation of Palestine. I know religious fanatics can be obnoxious but in the light of the above things, aren’t we just trying to compare apples and oranges?

My friend Wassim,
Yes all this secular examples that you gave me were bad for humanity, but two points we have to acknowledge. First, all those regimes were good for their own people, and they led their people with the light of religions, even though we are neglecting this fact, the fact that those were not 100% secular minds, they existed in a secular system that laws were respected and followed. You and me are living in a secular system were laws are heavily enforced. Despite racism and prejudicial against us, law are under the law, and law will save us, and will convict any person how are trying to get us in any way. this is a fact too.
Second, all this technology heaven and science development that the whole world are living in. it is all a results of that secular system, we cannot blame them for oppressing us. Thats their job, if you think about it, we did it when we were in power. Listen to History.
Plus, religions did more horrendous and still do too. I can give examples, but no further offended for some people.
welcome to my blog, I am a big fan of your writing, I always follow.

Hi Jan,
Not willing to drag this on or to tire you, but I must say that I don’t share your view of these people in the slightest. Those regimes were not good for their own people, I look at their peoples and see impoverished, sick individuals who are more like cattle than human beings. Western ideology makes you at best a “consumer” and at worst, an economic unit of development in a truly Stalin-esque fashion. At the most, the expectations of man are that of a beast: to eat, sleep, procreate. There are many of us who see man as capable of so much more than what this Western “secular” vision limits us too.

religion is a law that manage our life and relations ,so if there is any bad result we can’t blame the lawe , we blame the person that apply it in a wrong way. if we want to solve our problems we have to understant our religion and performe it correctly. Jazak Allah khyra (may God bless you )
